Tiana-Marie Blassingale

Tiana-Marie “Tia” Blassingale is a freelance barber and first generation Ph.D. candidate. She completed her B.A. in Philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh after finishing the honors program at the Community College of Philadelphia. Her current research focuses on the phenomenology and epistemology of barbershops, salons and other social institutions. Tia’s philosophical interests include: Global Existentialism, Phenomenology, Epistemology, Metaphysics, Social and Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Mind and Language, Philosophy of Education, Africana Philosophy and Aesthetics.
