Chad Hall

Graduate Student

I began my doctoral studies at the University of Connecticut in 2024. My research interests include philosophy of language, philosophical logic, philosophy of logic, and formal semantics. I am specifically interested in the semantics and logic of conditionals, with particular attention to counterfactuals and backtracking counterfactuals, and the philosophical issues they raise. I have recently become interested in vagueness, especially higher-order vagueness. I also have general interests in modal and other intensional logics, as well as many-valued logics. I am a proud member of the UConn Logic Group. In my spare time, you can find me watching college football and major league baseball, visiting historical sites (especially battlefields), reading, exploring bookstores, and enjoying the outdoors. All these activities I enjoy doing most with my wife.
