Joel J. Lorenzatti


Joel J. Lorenzatti is a PhD candidate in the Philosophy Department and a recipient of the Graduate Certificate in Cognitive Science at the University of Connecticut.

Before joining the University of Connecticut, he studied philosophy at the National University of Rosario and the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina). He also worked as a research fellow at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (Argentina) and was a visiting fellow at the University of Leiden (the Netherlands) and the University of Tartu (Estonia). In 2018, he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue further studies in the United States.

His primary research interests include translation studies, philosophy of biology, and philosophy of cognitive science. Since 2019, he has been researching aphantasia.
